 Hi my name is Grace Brydge I'm a freshman and my pronouns are she/her. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and learning new things! I am from a small town close to the coast in North Carolina. My major is criminal justice but this may change, I am still trying to decide what career path I want to take! I have decided to take this class to fulfill my second writing requirement but also am interested in learning more about the topic. Events in pop culture are very interesting to me. Usually when I think of grades/grading I think of a bit of a harsh system so focused on points rather than focused on learning. Making sure you are being educated about things and truly understanding them is much more important than points and grades. That is why I appreciate your way of non traditional grading. Learning on your own and figuring out how to feel about things makes you so much more knowledgeable and I find myself enjoying these things so much more. I am looking forward to learning more about gender in pop culture and developing better writing skills. I am hopeful to all around become a more socially educated human at the end of this course and to understand the different ways people express themselves. I am also hopeful to stay on top of my work and try my best not to procrastinate this semester!
